One of Australia’s iconic retail brands is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect – Data and Analytics to be responsible for data and technology design
About The Role
The Solution Architect (Data & Analytics) is responsible for the data and technology design of the Data & Analytics landscape for the whole organisation.
This role will maintain an overarching view of the end to end data environment while designing solution components, data models & structures, ingestion methods, warehouse designs and data lakes.
The aim is to build out a Cloud based, Data & Analytics platform, to deliver a step change in decision making capability to the business.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain and enhance the Data Architecture domain to ensure that the Data technology roadmap is aligned with both the IS and Group strategy.
- Design of the Cloud based Data & Analytics platform to support a fast pace and fast changing retail environment
- Develop and maintain domain architectures including business systems roadmaps, patterns and standards, utilising both business and technical knowledge
- Provide Data Architecture expertise / guidance to other IS colleagues and to project teams
- Own overall design of data solutions that strike the right balance between functionality, maintainability and cost effectiveness
- Develop and implement the strategic response to changing business requirements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Data & Analytics landscape
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve business priorities
Experience
- A high level of proficiency in AWS with a focus on data, warehousing & analytics
- Strong data modelling, data warehousing, and analytical skills
- Problem-solving skills including ability to focus on details while maintaining “big picture” view
- Knowledge of Cloud based data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake
- Knowledge of other cloud platforms Azure/Google
- Architecture Experience (either enterprise or solution) including understanding of architecture standards and methodologies
- Considerable experience in data modelling and data science concepts
- Design of technology solution in a Cloud environment using modern data architecture concepts
